What the job covers

Good to know
A complete renovation needs an empty apartment. There is no staging that leaves you a room to live in, because the kitchen and bathroom are taken apart in the same period. Before starting, plan where you will stay and where the furniture will be stored. If you have just bought the apartment, this is the easiest moment to do it, before it fills up with belongings.
After the strip-out you see what is really under the old finishes. Sometimes walls turn out to be uneven, a subfloor needs leveling or corners have crumbled. So the first visit sets the direction, and a second walk-through after removal confirms the plan before new materials come in. That way changes show up early and not in the middle of tiling.
A complete renovation asks for more decisions than any other: kitchen cabinets, a countertop, tiles for each wet room, sanitary ware, flooring, doors and colors. Prepare your choices in the order they enter the apartment. Anything set into a wall or floor, like faucet positions and the kitchen layout, is decided first, while things fitted at the end, like handles, can wait.
