Kitchen Renovation
A kitchen renovation is for replacing the whole kitchen, sometimes with a new layout as well. Arka takes out the old kitchen, prepares the walls and floor, installs the new cabinets and countertop, and connects the sink, the faucet and the dishwasher. Arka renovates kitchens across the center and south, from Rishon LeZion to Be'er Sheva.
What the job covers
- Taking out and hauling away the existing kitchen
- Repairing and preparing the walls behind the cabinets
- Installing base and wall cabinets to the plan
- Fitting the countertop and cutting openings for sink and cooktop
- Tiling the backsplash between countertop and wall cabinets
- Connecting the sink, faucet, drain trap and dishwasher
- Adjusting doors and drawers and fitting the handles
Good to know
A kitchen renovation starts with the layout, not the colors. Think about how you use the kitchen: where groceries get set down, how much open counter you want beside the cooktop, and where the fridge stands. If the sink keeps its position, connecting to the existing pipes is simpler. Moving the sink or the fridge changes the scope, so it is marked at the visit, before any cabinets are ordered.
The order on site is clear. The old kitchen comes out first, then the walls are repaired and checked for straightness, and then the base cabinets go in and are leveled. The countertop is measured and cut only once the cabinets stand, because any small error in the base carries into it. Backsplash, sink, faucet and dishwasher come last. The kitchen is out of action meanwhile, so set up a temporary corner with a kettle and the fridge.
Before the visit, gather photos of kitchens you like and write down the sizes of the fridge, oven and dishwasher you are keeping or buying. Settle on the countertop material and the backsplash too, since both affect the plan. On the first day the cabinets need to be empty, and if possible clear the room of anything that is not part of the kitchen.

Questions about Kitchen renovation
Either one works. A like-for-like replacement keeps the water and drain points where they are, so it is simpler. A new layout, such as moving the sink or adding an island, is checked at the visit against what is in the walls and floor, and decided before cabinets are ordered.
It depends on what turns up under the old cabinets. Once the old kitchen is out, tiles may be missing there or the floor may sit at a different level. If the floor is being replaced, that is settled at the visit, before installation, because the base cabinets stand on it.
Decide early which appliances stay and which are being replaced, and share their sizes. A dishwasher, fridge and oven all shape the cabinet measurements. Arka connects the dishwasher to the existing water and drain points at the end of the job. The cabinets leave room and openings for the oven and cooktop, and connecting them to power is arranged separately.
