Plumbing for Homes and Apartments
A small leak under the sink, a dripping siphon or a toilet cistern that keeps running are home plumbing jobs worth fixing before they spread. Arka handles this kind of work in homes and apartments across the center and south, from Rishon LeZion to Be'er Sheva. The work focuses on the visible water and drain points already in your home.
What the job covers
- Replacing a sink, bathtub or shower siphon
- Repairing or replacing a toilet cistern mechanism
- Replacing shutoff valves and flexible hoses under the sink
- Hooking up a washing machine or dishwasher to existing points
- Replacing a toilet or a toilet seat
- Tracing and fixing drips at visible connections
- Renewing silicone around sinks, toilets and tubs
Good to know
Before the visit, clear out the cabinet under the sink so the siphon and the shutoff valves can be reached without moving things around. If there is a wet patch or a drip, take a photo of it while it is happening. Some leaks only show up when the dishwasher runs or the tub is filling, and a photo helps pin down where the water comes from.
For a washing machine or dishwasher hookup, the first question is where the water valve and the drain point sit, and whether the appliance hoses reach them. When a toilet is being replaced, it matters whether its outlet goes into the wall or into the floor, because that decides which toilet will fit. These details are checked at the visit, before anything is ordered.
The job itself starts by closing the water at the main valve or the shutoff valve, taking out the old part and cleaning the connection point. After the new part goes in, the water is opened, run for a while, and every joint is checked for drips. At the end you walk through the work together, including which valve shuts off each point.

Questions about Plumbing
For most jobs only the shutoff valve for that one point is closed, and the rest of the home keeps its water. If there is no shutoff valve, or it is stuck, the main valve is closed for the time of the swap. This is discussed beforehand so you know when the water will be off.
This service covers connecting an appliance to a water point and drain that already exist. If there is no point where you want the machine, that becomes a change to the pipework. At the visit the wall and its surroundings are checked, and you decide together what can be done.
Close the shutoff valve under the sink, or the main valve for the apartment if there is none. Put a bowl or towel under the joint, dry the cabinet so the wood does not soak up water, and take a photo. That makes it easier to see where the water is coming out.
