Shower Renovation
A shower renovation touches only the shower area, while the toilet, the sink and the rest of the room stay as they are. It suits a shower with cracked tile around it, water that drains slowly, or a bathtub you want to swap for a shower. Arka redoes showers across the center and south, from Rishon LeZion to Be'er Sheva.
What the job covers
- Taking out a bathtub, shower tray or old enclosure
- Removing wall tile in the shower area only
- Building a sloped tiled shower floor or setting a tray
- Tiling the shower walls to the height you choose
- Installing the shower mixer, head and slide bar
- Fitting a glass screen or a curtain rail
- A wall niche for bottles, where the wall allows it
Good to know
The first decision is the shower floor. A ready-made tray sits on the floor and leaves a small step. A tiled floor can sit level with the rest of the room, with a slope toward the drain. A level floor is easier to walk into, but it means removing more and building the slope again. Both options are checked at the visit against where the existing drain sits.
Because only one corner of the room is opened up, the rest of the bathroom can stay in use while the work goes on. The toilet and the sink stay connected, and most of the dust stays around the shower. The sensitive part is where new tile meets old. If the original tile is no longer sold, a deliberately different tile for the shower corner makes the change look chosen rather than patched.
Before the visit, measure the shower corner and take photos of the current mixer and drain. Decide whether you prefer a fixed glass screen, a hinged door or a curtain, since that affects the measurements and the tiling. If you have already picked a mixer or a shower head, keep the product page so the connections can be checked against the pipes in the wall.

Questions about Shower renovation
Usually yes, since the work stays in the shower corner and the toilet and sink remain connected. On removal and cutting days there will be dust across the whole room, so take towels and toiletries out first. The order of the days is arranged with you in advance.
A tray is a ready-made base set in place and connected to the drain, and it usually leaves a small step at the entry. A sloped tiled floor is built on site in the tile you choose and can sit level with the room. Which one fits depends on the drain's position and height, checked at the visit.
Yes, if the tile is intact and the water drains properly. The job is then smaller and covers the mixer, the shower head and the screen. If a cracked tile or crumbling grout turns up during the swap, it is shown to you and you decide together whether to widen the work.
